Frequently asked questions
Are the COM ports RS-232 or RS-485?
It depends on the model. Some combine plain RS-232 ports with ports that can be switched to RS-485; others list their COM ports without the split. The datasheet on each product page gives the detail, and we confirm the exact port types on your quotation.
Can I get more serial ports than listed?
Several platforms take COM expansion through internal headers or a mini-PCIe/M.2 serial card. Tell us how many ports and which standard you need and we will propose a configuration.
Do the ports support pin-9 power or isolation?
Powered COM (5 V / 12 V on pin 9) and isolated RS-485 are available on some models and boards only. Ask for them by name in your enquiry so we can confirm the exact model.
Which operating systems are supported?
Windows 10/11 and Linux are typical, and serial ports appear as standard COM / ttyS devices. Supported OS versions are listed per model.
