Rackmount storage enclosures from 2U to 4U with hot-swap bays from 8 to 36 drives, for system builders assembling NAS heads, surveillance recorders, backup targets, and private-cloud storage nodes. Backplane generation (6Gb/s SATA through 12Gb/s SAS Expander) and drive-bay count are the primary selectors.
How to choose
Count usable bays against your RAID or erasure-coding layout, then match the backplane to your HBA or RAID controller — MiniSAS HD Expander backplanes reduce cabling on high-bay-count builds. Confirm motherboard clearance (many models take up to 12"×13" boards), PSU redundancy requirements, and rail depth against your rack before ordering.
