Panel PC or separate display?

A panel PC integrates the computer and the touch display in one sealed unit — one cutout, one power feed, no video cable to fail. It is usually the right choice for machine HMIs, line-side terminals, and kiosks. Choose a separate industrial PC plus touch monitor when the compute needs to live in the cabinet or be serviced without removing the display.

How to choose

Start with the mechanical fit: cutout dimensions, mounting method (panel, VESA, wall), bezel sealing (front IP65 is common in this family), and viewing conditions including brightness and glare. Then pick the touch technology — projected-capacitive for multi-touch and glass fronts, resistive where gloves or styluses dominate. Finally size the compute tier and confirm serial, LAN, USB, and second-display connectivity for the machine or ERP integration.
