What the deployment demands

Kiosk projects share four requirements that consumer hardware cannot meet:

Fleet content management

With dozens of units across locations, walking USB sticks around is not an option; content and health must be managed centrally.

Location- and time-aware content

Each totem shows different information by site, day, and campaign — a CMS scheduling problem the hardware must support headlessly.

The platform

A sealed touch panel PC (or display + compact player) sized for public duty:

Compute headroom

Core-class processors with 16GB-class memory run the kiosk app, CMS player, and peripheral services without contention.

Native peripheral ports

USB and COM directly on the board for printers, NFC, scanners, and cameras — plus GPIO options where enclosures add sensors.

Managed OS image

A locked-down Windows or Android image with kiosk mode, watchdog, auto power-on, and remote management pre-configured, cloned across the fleet.
